Divergent tendencies of the economic as well as of the social development do
make reasoning for more adequate social system, but primarily show for overall
inadequateness of the economic policy in respect to underestimation of the global
value of local development. These trends enlarge the spectrum of unnecessary
problems which now shall require costly solutions and offers the evidence that the
best practice in this aspect is to avoid these problems. Even further behind the above
mentioned negative consequence of polarization there are hidden many other – just
like for example the problem of
long-term unemployment
. This is very hard to be
solved socio-economic problem bringing tragedies to peoples lives. The rate of long-
term unemployment in Slovak Republic actually attained one of the highest levels in
the world
19
and is still on the rise. [Chart 11]
